SkillsUSA Regional competitions serve three important purposes: to establish a maximum number of state competitors in technical contests where space and/or safety concerns are an issue, to allow more students from local chapters an opportunity to participate in competitions and to help students better prepare for state-level competitions. Regional competitions occur each year in February. Successful planning and facilitation of regional competitions depends on regional chapter team work. This includes clear and regular communication among local chapters, beginning with each new school year.
The first formal regional meetings are held each September during CTSO Advisor Training. Chapters not represented at this important statewide meeting and interested in competing in regional competitions should contact State Director as soon as possible to ensure they are included in their region’s planning process. For additional information please review the Regional Guidelines document and Regional Map, available on this page.
